The ultimate goal of the Monolith fabrication process is to capture the natural beauty of wood and stone
and make the natural features a part of the design. The material IS the design, at least an integral part of the design concept. By avoiding the multiple cutting and processing of industrial fabrication we are able to engineer and design interiors using monolithic, large-format pieces of solid, exotic hardwoods while maintaining the integrity and beauty of the grain and the natural artistry of patterns found in stone and wood.
Through a 7-step process including drying, minimized cutting, treating, and reinforcing, we are able to fabricate solid-wood, flat-panel doors and surfaces for all design styles, particularly contemporary applications, without destroying the grain or an over-reliance on veneers. What you see in the end is the wood as it grew in the forest or the stone as it formed in the Earth. Organic, complete, beautiful in it's natural state yet refined in it's finish.
